My father would have been very pleased. He was sorely disappointed with my gender as he sorely wanted a daughter.
I think maybe I would have had a slightly better life.

My mother wanted a girl! I can empathize!

weird usually fathers want a son

@senpie: My father loved women and loved having women around him. He never let me forget how much of a disappointment I was.

@OldPink: It's hell isn't it?

@islandalone: maybe it's just the way you worded it, but ur dad sounds like a creeper

@senpie: He was more of a womanizer but he did keep it on a somewhat decent level in that he never hit on underage girls.

@islandalone: kind of. Especially being an only child, with only one parent, who wanted a girl... She kind of treated me like I was both, without making me appear like a girl. In a way is was good, but when I started dating, it was hell...

i can understand womanizing, but the fact that he'd prefer a daughter because of it? im a little confused. every man loves women but it doesn't necessarily affect their preference in children.

@senpie: It's just he preferred women. He had a lot of guy friends - mainly professional - and they always had women around them.
