Recorded a phone call with a scammer

I’m reposting this cause almost no one saw it the first time lol
_______________________________________

I got a voicemail from some scammers pretending to be from XFinity/Comcast, saying there’s a 50% off promotion that ends TODAY and to call back immediately to take advantage. I called, he said that in order to get it, I have to buy 2 target gift cards for $240 each and use those to pay them $480 up front, which will cover my bill for the next 16 months… or 3 years. He said both at different times.

I tried to sound as dumb and slow as possible, to maximize annoyance, so just know I’m a bit sharper than this in real life lol. Also I altered my cadence a bit because it wasn’t the first time that I called, I didn’t do a very good job but it seemed to work lol; that’s why I might sound just a tad off.

The whole phone call was about 38 minutes, but here’s the final 9 & 1/2 minutes. If you want to skip ahead to the part where he starts cussing me out, it’s at about the 6 minute mark.

Took me a while to figure out how to show you guys this video, had to upload it to YouTube and everything, so hope you enjoy! Lol

FYI I used iPhone’s native call recording function to record the audio, and since I started the call while it was still in the “press 1 for yada yada, press 2 for blah blah blah” part, he didn’t hear the announcement that I was recording. And I guess he didn’t notice the periodic beeping reminder, or he didn’t know what it was. Might be technically unlawful (not sure cause he’s probably not in California, nor the States for that matter), but you guys won’t snitch right? Heh

These scammers will go to any and all lengths to screw you out of your money. I've watched scammer payback and kitboga on YouTube, love how they keep the scammer busy for hours on end lol.

Periodically I'll get the voicemail for 50% off Xfinity, but then there's another one I started getting voicemails for that I don't even have.

I got a voicemail supposedly from my bank and their "broad service center" thankfully a relative worked for the bank and said that doesn't exist, any alerts will come through email or the banking app.

Then I got a call from Walmart, and it sounds like a regular person talking, "Hey this is Mary from Walmart, a pre-authorized purchase of PlayStation 5 with special edition pulse 3d headset is being ordered from your Walmart account for the amount of $919.45. To cancel your order or to connect with one of our customer support Representatives please press one. And then it just repeats, the voicemail is 1:12 long.

Funny thing is, I don't even have a Walmart account lol. I'd say the closest, almost got me scam, was the payment denied email. I recently paid an Xfinity bill, then I see this email so I called Xfinity and the guy on the phone said, "sir, everything is fine with your account it must be a scam". When I came back and moused over the header on the email, sure enough it was not xfinity.com.

Loved your audio wasting this scammers time! We gotta stay strong and vigilant against this kind of stuff!
