Why do people feel the need to inform people it's snowing?

Snow has happened in the UK before... what is the big deal...I've noticed it on Facebook.

what's wrong with that?I dont know how it can bother you,I did that too because its not snowing everyday for example,there's nothing wrong with that from my point of wiew.
