Has someone's profile interested you but you may be too shy or reserved to make the first move?

I rarely make the first contact....what I will do is follow a bit and communicate on their posts etc..you get a vibe that way!

Yes sort of, I feel sometimes that there are sort of cliques and when you try to start talking with them the reception is usually icy if any at all.

I'm not really drawn by profiles though, the interaction on Q&A and stories is much more important, and I don't recall if I've ever messaged anyone on EP or SW that I didn't first interact significantly in the Q&A. Of course, I can't say that's been highly useful.

I let folks knock on my door first. I usually open the door though
