Should families who made a fortune from slavery be made to give it to charity?

No. They SHOULD give it to the descendants of their slaves !

But at the very least it's recognition for the wrongdoing.
If the descended family decided to....make a bonfire of it or split it between them or create a foundation....whatever !
At least it's their choice !
