How do you personally respond to being ignored?

When I'm either upset, angry or disappointed in someone, rather than stir the pot and create full on conflict, I ignore the person and basically give the cold shoulder without saying that's what I am doing. It seems that silence speaks as well. How do you respond if someone goes silent on you and ignores you?

I become distant. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy of sorts. Or maybe it's my way of minimizing the damage. I try to give all I can to the people that have mattered to me, so being ignored can be crushing at times

@Nostromo: Oh wow, I feel so privileged to have a fee waiver, especially in such uncertain economic times! lmao. :)

It all depends on who is ignoring me. If it's someone I really like, I often take it way too personally and get suitably butthurt.

I do too re: being ignored, but sometimes it's the only option to give to some people when you are speechless.

It is one of the very few things in the world that fills me with uncontrollable rage.

Even if you may be the reason why the person is ignoring you? Sometimes it's better to cool off and ignore someone lest you say something that you will regret later.

@OWise1: underneath whatever issue there is, whatever it is that has caused upset or whatever has been said by either party...we still love each other, so why ignore that?

That love existed before, it will exist afterwards, and it exists during the fight, so I can't deal with it when ignoring is used in this way. I want to make things better and I can't if there is no dialogue.

@ChasingBrainBros: Point well taken.

Depends on the situation. I PREFER to be ignored by those I don't know, but generally get upset when ignored by those I love or care about.

I am the same. Being quiet sometimes sends a message and causes others to think about their actions though.

@OWise1: True d'at! I've discovered that the less I say, the more people listen to me. I guess it goes back to that old saw about value in rarity. :-)

@Nostromo: Excellent response. :)

I thought someone was doing me a favor, so now I can get some work done.
