Have u been affected by hurricane Helene 🌀🌀🌀

This thing was a monster.
You've seen the footage.
I mean even here on the beach
what little we got was scary at times.
But further inland it was a disaster. 👀
I believe that hurricane Helene was worse than Katrina.
100 dead already. And counting. This storm hit the Appalachian Mountains.
It was just bad. Have you or your family been affected by this thing. Comments. 😑

We had major wind, lots of trees and branches down, damage to buildings, widespread power and internet outages. Definitely worse inland than on the coast where I am. The storm’s rapid intensification from category 2 to 4 right before landfall was unexpected. The water in the Gulf of Mexico was unusually warm which contributed to that.

@LeopoldBloom Yes. It was pretty bad. One of the worst storms ever.
@Zonuss That's what they're saying. Possibly the worst storm to hit Georgia, ever. I'm impressed with how fast Georgia Power turned the electricity back on. They used AI to pre-position repair teams where they would be most effective, and used drones to survey power lines. Our power went out early Friday morning and was back on by Sunday. Of course, it's still out for many people.

Hurricane Helene had more energy than Katrina Katrina was a cat 3 Helene reached a low four. The damage from Michael was actually far worse that was as big as they get the only thing that saved people from that one was the blast zone was very narrow.

There were certain areas on this last storm that were devastated Perry for instance near Keaton Beach but that place is always being hit now and it is only 10 ft above sea level. That is why the local sheriff told people that if they were going to stay take a magic marker right your name social security number and your date of birth on your shirt so that we can identify your bodies in the morning.

I've dealt with the storms all my life I was in North Carolina for Florence, did FEMA and rescue work during hurricane Michael as well and know the devastation first hand. The damage from Helene actually was not as horrible as say hurricane Andrew was in 1992, or especially the great hurricane of 1885 there are much worse hurricanes in Florida's history. But still people died places were flooded and people lost their homes and my heart genuinely goes out to them. Was just commenting on your post to set the records straight and put things into perspective

@KingofBones1 Helene was way worse than hurricane Andrew.
Trust me I have watched almost 72 hours of video over the past 3 days. The damage is already over 100 billion.
Over 120 dead so far. 600 people still missing or unaccounted for. This thing even did damage in Virginia and Ohio.
And some other surrounding areas. Totally wiped out Chimney Rock NC.
Asheville NC has been decimated. A city with over 90,000. So yes. Even on Tik Tok the videos are there. Watch them. I been through Hugo. And Matthew.
Those are not even close. 🤔
No thankfully. The tiktoks coming from survivors or people who evacuated and have returned home are devestating
