Does anyone know anything about houseboats?

When I save up enough to buy one it's going to cost me nearly 4000 grand a year to keep it parked and it also says you can't keep in there all year 馃檮. I'm confused. Why can't owning a boat be simple 馃槶

ahhh, slip fees. I suspect nothing is every as simple as we'd like it to be.

You can keep a boat in a slip all year long. I lived aboard boats before. Truthfully though. House boats are a real pain and you have to hire a tug to relocate in many cases. Expensive. Get a live aboard ready sport fish. Or sailboat. 40 ft or so. Much easier

I can't sail lol. I've never actually been in a boat before.

Any other mooring places nearby ?

Wherever you are in the world, do you know the difference between a Houseboat and a Narrow boat or Barge ?
(i'm making the assumption they might be called different things if for example you're in The States !)
Any difference in fees for those ?

@Picklebobble2: I don't want a narrow boat and I'm not sure the prices for that because it says you have to move every couple of days. More of a marina house boat.

So it'll be permenantly moored ?
I wonder if those 'fees' include taxes ??
