Why do you think people become vegan?

Seems like there's a lot of cynicism regarding this lifestyle, but maybe that's just because sardonicism is a popular pastime on the internet. Rather than focus on those antagonizers, I'm curious to hear what you honestly believe motivates people to become vegan

I'm vegan, and for me it's simple; I'm a crybaby. All I have to do is picture animals being butchered or mistreated and I want nothing to do with the food.
