Why make an announcement when you’re leaving sw? I see so many people make announcements and then they come back a few days later

It does happen a lot. Some might be attention-seekers, I'm guessing.

Then there are others who simply leave, never to return, or they gradually stop coming here. I sometimes wonder what happened to them as they never said a word about leaving.
