Why do yanks buy a real tree every year for Christmas?

Why not just save money and buy a plastic one.

Because some freak decided a tree is a renewable resource, so feel free to kill all the trees. Personally I like to grow trees and plant them around town, give them life. This is where our air comes from, who thinks it is OK to kill our own air generator. Save a tree, save our planet.

I consider life to be special, even if it is just a tree. It makes me crazy to think of people killing them so they can put decorations on them for 2 weeks and then toss them out.

@BalletDancer: When I get a live tree I keep it inside until the weather warms up and I replant it as do many people. We buy them with the root wrapped in burlap for that purpose.
