Is it really that hard to grasp the concept that if you're nice to me, I'll be nice to you?

One of the great paradoxes online are the people wanting to have a nice conversation with decent people, or conversation about a certain topic, and then never replying to people that fit that criteria. (by the way I am not pointing fingers at you lol)
