Healing and recharging
My brother put some prayers in my phone for me to listen to while I was at the hospital.
At first I was like, "Eh, I'm not in the mood."
But he insisted that I listen to them anyway.
I will say this - the prayers did help calm my troubled heart down and give me some peace of mind.
I'm not sure if this will work for everyone.
But it's worth a try.
Sometimes you're sad, and lonely, and miserable, and depressed, in pain, suffering, in agony, dying inside.
Sometimes you hide it. Sometimes you may reveal your feelings to others. Sometimes people will support you, and comfort you. Sometimes you'll be on your own.
There are many situations which may be out of your control.
You may not have the power to do anything, or change anything.
In times of helplessness and hopelessness, perhaps prayers may provide you the comfort and solace that you need.
Some people believe in God, others don't.
I'm not here to change anyone's mind.
If you believe God exists, good. If you don't, well, ignorance is bliss.
Religion has always been a touchy subject, with more people against, than for it. And for legitimate reasons.
I've seen religious people go through the same problems that atheists do.
Sometimes people join a religion thinking it will solve all their problems. Instead, they end up more miserable after joining it.
Regardless of what your beliefs and thoughts are when it comes to religion, if you're feeling miserable and helpless, maybe you could try praying. Listen to prayers and religious songs. Perhaps they will boost your morale and help you feel better.
People deal with pain and misery in different ways. Some people resort to drinking and doing drugs. Some people get into self-destructive habits. Some people harm themselves or others. Some people go to therapy. Others check into rehab. Some may take a break and go on vacation or an adventure.
Since I can't do any of the above, all I had left was prayers.
