Weird stuff I cant explain part 1

When I was About 7 , for about 5 nights I used to wake up in the middle of the night , well I assumed I was awake as I could see all my room and everything in it but I couldnt move at all and my throat dried out so much I couldnt shout my parents and it felt like something was holding me down , it lasted for an about an minuet or two , I told my parents but they said it was just an bad dream but I dont understand why it happened more than once in the same way. When I turned 8 or 9 it completely stopped. I wonder what happened there.
