Don't mind me
Ever looked at someone, and wondered, why are they like this?
You ever looked at yourself, and wondered, why am I like this?
For that question to pop up, you need to observe, and analyze.
Introspective. Are you?
Why does someone think the way they think? Why does someone act the way they act? Why does someone do, the way they do?
Observation, and experience shapes a man.
You see something, and you learn. It may happen to you, or to someone else, but it leaves an imprint on your mind. It leaves a lesson in your brain.
When you see someone - a spouse cheating on their significant other, a man robbing another, a boy killing a child, a politician fooling the public... why? Why did they do it? What events and experiences led to that particular moment in their life, that they made the conscious decision to do whatever they did?
When a baby is born, they're completely innocent. A baby doesn't harbor malice. Even when a baby does something wrong, say kick you, or slap you, they don't know that it was bad.
But as that baby grows up, they see, and they learn. They are taught. They know that doing something is bad.
An adult can differentiate between goodness and evil.
So why choose evil?
Why choose evil?
I think a lot of people have become desensitized to evil today. Even the children are exposed to so much vice, that it's impossible to expect them to act with virtue when they're older.
There are a lot of improper things, inappropriate things, deplorable things, immoral things, unethical things, disgraceful things that are actively being promoted by "influencers" and celebrities, the news and media.
People see these trends and think, "Oh! So and so is doing it, why can't I?"
This has become the general mindset of people today - "Everyone else is doing it, so what's the problem?"
What hope does the future hold for humanity, when the present seems so dire?
The world has made a lot of progress in science and technology.
But what progress has it made with the values that distinguish humans from animals?
Are we better than the people from the 1900's, 1800's, 1700's? Are we worse? Or are we the same old, same old?
Think about it. Pick up a history book. Study the ancient civilizations. Compare them to the people you see right now.
I don't know where I'm going with this.
I don't know if there is a conclusion, if any.
I'm not sure if some or any of this even makes sense.
But it's a starting point.
Maybe you could finish it.
Maybe you've reached nirvana and can see things for what they are; life for what it is. I don't know.
