This is Black Bike week here on the Strand. Its over now, but its an event that lasts about 5 days. This years gathering was rather busy or at least more than I thought it would be. But it is not even close to what it once was about 20 years ago.
How many of you people here have ever been to a biker rally before ? Was it fun ? Was it a mixed event ?

I've been to a few at laconia in New Hampshire here in the states.
Back in the eighties it was shear mayhem.
We stayed in a campground behind the track with several thousand bikers.

We burned cars, motorcycles, trucks. There were drag races on the dirt road in front of my campsite one year..
Police and fireman, ambulance and other types of first responders refused to enter the campground from Friday through Sunday during the race weekend.
We were told that at the gate, anyone injured needed to brought out.. enter at your own risk..
It was crazy.

It was a blast.. we rode up in a group of 10 to 12.. stayed the whole weekend.
One year we bought a car to carry all of our food, beer and camping gear, registered and legal .
When we got their we drove it around the campgrounds smashing into boulders and tree stumps , took the windshield out, cut the roof pillars and folded the roof back over the trunk and turned it into a convertible 😂
Drove it around some more and finally burned it . 🔥🔥
Guys were coming by all weekend telling us that we had the best car .. 😂
