I commend you on bringing the dissatisfaction for the flawed algorithm/chronologically-based feed into one post to hopefully make a difference. But it’s not gonna matter, man. Admins have their own game plan in mind and are ultimately gonna do what they wanna do…as it’s been proven numerous times. And backtracking is definitely not on their list of priorities as they continue to move forward with other “improvements”.
Bottom line is this place is broken. And they’ll do nothing to fix that at the core. They’ll just continue building on top of a broken foundation and hope it’ll stay upright.

@PerfectionOfTheHeart 100% agreed. They don’t care what we want.

@PerfectionOfTheHeart This is likely the sad truth of where this will end. I still vote, I'll still voice my opinion, but it is very clear that the admins care little for what their users want/need to get value out of this place. Their claims to the importance of and how much they value user feedback is only true up until the point where user feedback no longer align with their own personal preferences.
@PirateMonkeyCabinet i think they would change. No reason NOT to listen to their users. We make sw what it is. No users no sw

@mysteryespresso I don't necessarily disagree, but for a very long time now they have continually shown disinterest in listening to users. I just don't see a reason to hold hope for them changing now when they haven't shown any signs of changing their course at any of the many crossroads before, and so recently have kept their dismissive tone up.

@mysteryespresso There’s a revolving door of users though. And they know that. There’ll be no love lost when the members who have been here since it’s startup fall off when so many will be looking for a site like this to connect with others on. Especially from the teen category which they’ve labeled this site as being perfect for in the Google app store.

@PerfectionOfTheHeart yah the fact that they have listed this as a place for teens is pretty disgusting.
PerfectionOfTheHeart · 46-50, F
@iamonfire696 Was more than likely the targeted audience all along.

@PerfectionOfTheHeart you think?

I've been saying for quite a while (though probably in different words) that it feels like they had a site they wanted to make in mind, but they needed a userbase to kickstart it. Giving just enough similarity to grab the ones on their way out of EP and Yahoo Answers was a way to get that foundation. Use them for a while, then "phase out" the current users when they are ready for the target audience they are actually interested in.

@PirateMonkeyCabinet this is in the back of my thoughts too.
The fun loving, contemplative, slightly kinky and conversational types that filled the feed are fading out, and being replaced with vacant nonsense and plagarised content from other sites.
I mean , we had silly posts back then too, but they didn't fill the feed.
This place was so unique , one got a sense of comminity .
Now.....that too is fading out.
We aren't hip enough .

Precisely. It's one of the reasons I have gone dormant.

@Magenta same .
I stay for way shorter times now (yesterday was an exception).
And even have days of gaps where i dont engage at all.
Its got less appeal now.
I look at the feed , and given its lack of content , and the fact so much of it is political , depressive, angry and plain nonsensical .....its hard to engage .

@PerfectionOfTheHeart @iamonfire696 Totally. Labeling it as "teen" was just another turn off and deterrent. Pretty soon that's all it will be filled with. Utter immature nonsense and entertainment. Sad to see the more mature quality posters fade away...
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@Magenta I completely agree. Then when more teens come to this site it attracts more pedophiles and the content gets pretty disgusting when there are older men begging to chat to an underage account elsewhere because underage accounts cannot private message.
