If an arranged marriage goes wrong, whose fault is it?

Wondering... who do we credit when an arranged marriage works out?
I remember reading a story about a couple who had been together from the day their marriage took place and it was arranged... the woman and man grew old together and the woman talked about how she grew to love her husband. I think maybe we should give credit to a time, society and ways that had people staying together and working on making a marriage work.
