OK, I will keep it simple. If you can honestly say that you aren't in love (at this moment) then it's a scientific fact that you were never in love. Love is something that never dies. I've been in love twice in my lifetime, including my first fiance' and my 2nd wife. Yeah, I know...that's messed up. It means I never married the first love of my life. I did marry a girl who I was never in love with. And I divorced a girl who I'm still in love with. Life is so complicated. Just because you love somebody doesn't mean that they are a positive influence in your life....
But love? True love never dies...

Why would you measure love at all? It is what it is. Just enjoy it. There is no need for a label or number.
LunarOrbit · 56-60, M
@NerdyPotato Yes. Good point. I just wonder if people go thru different levels of heartache for a reason.

Good question, but there are many different types of love, and I think it's measured according to individual perception.

@LunarOrbit No. I don't think so. If it's romantic, you can still love a person who doesn't love you; that's called unrequited love.

@SW-User Good one! :)

@LunarOrbit Thank you buddy

Quality, how you feel. How you make them feel.
And yes time is a great way to test it.
(if it's fickle or not)

Way more than a feeling. We don't feel the same all the time, feelings fluctuate. It's commitment and supporting each other and being there for each other during the times when the feelings aren't, long term.

I honestly don't have a clue these days. I don't know that I believe in it anymore. Except between kids and parents, siblings etc. Even that is often fleeting or even non existent for some.
LunarOrbit · 56-60, M
@LadyBronte Definitely a different love between family, friends, lovers and pets. Its a complicated unit. 😔
LadyBronte · 56-60, F
@LunarOrbit Ah yes. Pets. I forgot them. Without mine, I'd be entirely lost.
Thevy29 · 41-45, M

Not sure.
Can't measure it.
I don't know how, don't want to know.

The real one? You can't. It's unconditional.
