Do you struggle to talk with groups of people in a social setting?

I’m ok I’m one on one conversation, but the more people you add the harder it becomes to keep up with the conversation. It’s not even about being nervous, I can talk in front of a group of people. I have no problem with public presentations or leading a group of people in training. when it’s a social conversation, Idk what it is but it’s so hard. I fall behind and when I do contribute my comment is out of sync with everyone else in the group, as in the conversation has already moved on.

I get scared when I realize they can hear me. And then I forget all the words and babble like an idiot.

@nonsensiclesnail been there, I’ve had times where I said nothing for like five minutes, finally chime in, realize they are laser focused bc I’m actually talking, then say something stupid
Exactly that!! I’m always shocked someone stops to listen to me and then I ruin it… @Namesaresohard

@nonsensiclesnail people think I’m crazy when I say they need to teach basic conversational skills to kids. Not everyone picks it up naturally.
@Namesaresohard oh, you are not wrong!! Or crazy. It would help them make friends. We don’t all know these things!
