Also I'm unironically not a fan of turning sad or bittersweet endings into happy ones.
Hell I have a Profile picture that indicates there must be SOME element of emotional masochism on my part.
Although the referenced piece of art is likely obscure to Western Audiences who won't understand the Japanese
it's Kimi Ga Nozumu Eien brought to the west as Rumbling hearts and if you're a fan of this piece of work it probably made you suffer but in a way you never knew you wanted to.
