@Adstar Dare I say that they're playing Russian Roulette?
PfuzylogicM
Their national loan rate went from 8.5 to 20 %
does that affect the oligarchy? It's quite protected
Dlrannie31-35, F
@thewindupbirdchronicles It will affect the average Russian citizen and that could lead to political unrest as the effects bite
@Dlrannie That's the hope I know. I have Putin is a sociopath (most leaders are) and how he sees their ruin is another story. I want to be wrong about this.
@Dlrannie My honest hope, and it's political, is he is trying to engage the cold war again. Where all is silent with threats that are mostly empty; but that's practised already but it's been a while. If he backs off now, that is what he is trying to bring back (only way I see it)

French revolution style change is probably coming. The power is too concentrated at the top in Russia.

Putin and his friends will have plenty of US$ and euros in foreign banks so they don't care. Just means they can buy roubles cheaply - not that they need more.

@SW-User Talk about stupid games winning stupid prizes.. The critical words in your post are ""[c=7700B2]in foreign banks[/c]""

Guess who is freezing Russian accounts in FOREIGN BANKS!! Really smart hey, put all their foreign currency reserves in backs in France, the UK and the USA. Because they did not trust in their corrupt oligarch home grown banks in Russia..

Silly Boys 馃ぃ

@Adstar I'm sure they have ways around it. I don't think BNP in Paris has an account in the name of V. Putin.

I bet it's still fecking expensive to buy any drink at Sheremetyevo airport though. It cost me the equivalent of 拢8 for a half pint when I was coming home from there a few years back.

I鈥檓 not sure how much he cares about his own citizens but you are right this will cripple average workers in Russia economically. However, I don鈥檛 know how quickly they will feel it. 馃

I don't imagine that would come as a surprise to Putin.
Subsumedpat36-40, M
when facebook blocks russia that will be the end for them
