Once upon a time…

I used to be really good at striking up conversations in places like this or in chat rooms. Now I feel awkward and lost. 😂

I think years of teaching 8 th graders has taken my soul.

I can understand what you mean (about the first part, I don't think I've had anything to do with any 8th graders since I was one). I sorta feel like the whole world has slipped that way. or maybe I just ungracefully aged into it.
