If Mexico joined Russia in a collective defence treaty & Russia decided to put military bases in Mexico, would it be within the U.S.'s best interest

Right now Mexicos army can't even win a battle against the cartels and they act like they own the country. More of a competent military source of any kind being there would probably help everyone really. Although I doubt that'd ever really happen either way.
