Speaking of that, what is the point of buying expensive clothes for small children?

They'll just grow right out of them! It would be smarter to have them wear a collection of rags and potato sacks until they're grown to the point where their growth is more steady and less sporadic.

Exactly. I wouldn’t do it, my daughter grew so fast that some of the clothes that she was given in her baby shower never got worn. And she grew fast as a toddler till she got to be about 4-5 years old. A lot of parents buy good second-hand clothing for their young children or get hand-me downs from other relatives.
