Is everyone prepared for the great economic crash of 2022?

Biden and Trudeau have shut down cross border traffic. Does anyone have any idea how integrated Canada and the USA's economies are? This is going to make the 1930s a walk in the park unless things change very quickly.

Where do you get your news? Non-vaccinated truck drivers have to quarantine for 10 days if crossing the border. Last I read 93% are vaccinated. Yes, the industry is short staff already by about 10000 truckers (and no doubt why, if you look at what is asked of them in scheduling etc), but this is not the great shutdown. A better thing to bark at politicians about would be real estate costs, me thinks.

@thewindupbirdchronicles So you have no idea how integrated economies fail when tiny thing like SUPPLY CHAINS are interrupted? Too funny!!! Here is a hint. If truckers can not cross international borders the supply chain is shattered.
@hippyjoe1955 One they can cross and it's a small minority who can't (or rather can, but practically can't.) And yes, I'm very aware.
@hippyjoe1955 I suggest a $300000 increase on a small house over two years is of a larger consequence for many.

@thewindupbirdchronicles 20% of Canadian Truckers and 50% of American truckers. Not a small number at all. I heard a warehouse in Calgary has had its fresh vegetables and fruits by 2 thirds. That is week one. The US has just started. You truly not that bright if you think you can still eat without adequate truckers.

@thewindupbirdchronicles Can you eat your house? Serious question.
@hippyjoe1955 You'll change your tune if people are mandated to get vaccines to have a place to live.

@thewindupbirdchronicles The vax is going going gone. Too bad you are on the wrong side of history. Have you checked out Britain lately?
@hippyjoe1955 You are assuming my position. I just know if people can't afford a home it's nearly as bad as not having food - possibly worse in a cold climate. And betting my hedges on food still arriving.

@thewindupbirdchronicles And in short order they won't be able to buy food either. Which is more important?
@hippyjoe1955 Well let's just say a 7% loss in truckers is not going to cost the same as the amount of cost in housing over two years. Now if you want to talk about them being cumulative losses for the average person, and how life is becoming un-affordable sure. And it would be a politician who has every meal made for him, along with a servant to buy those groceries that would make winter that season to enact such measures. And by the way, I am personally against vaccine mandates.

@thewindupbirdchronicles Considering we start out 17000 short. Now we just lost 20% of Canadian trucks and 50% of American trucks. You really need to get a better grasp on the severity of the situation. Entire industries will soon be shutting down.
