There was one time I really felt guilty about something and I really was at fault. I took someone for granted and they walked away after a really big fight (and at a very inconvenient time for me). I almost instantly felt guilt and it lasted for many many years. Actually it never went away. One thing that helped was talking to that person later down the road. It took me a long time to say I was sorry. I still have regrets about it.

@DoubleRings Sorry to hear that. Glad you were able to talk to that person about it after a long time. I am not sure if I’d become really distant and estranged when misunderstanding like this happens. Hoping to get to that point too where all is well.

@TessDun Well I didn’t have a choice. This person wanted to be away from me. There really was nothing I could do which made me very helpless and even more guilty.

@DoubleRings Yes, and it’s not always easy to hope for reconciliation specially when someone’s door is already closed. I presume he/she is someone really important and close to you. It’s good you have now made peace with him/her

Yeah I made peace with that person but still have serious regrets that changed the trajectory of my life.
