“Of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these... It might have been.”

Fairydust · F
No I actually think I would have made similar mistakes, it’s taken me until now to figure Everything out about myself.

Where I go wrong. I still love life though and see this as good time to grow better, stronger.

I’m glad I got to raise a couple of boys. I cant see my life without them.
Sure, everyone does. However, I’m into living in the present. You can learn from the past but it’s waste of present time dwelling on what could have been. Also the future is not knowable, another reason to live in the now.

@BlueSkyKing Yup, there’s a saying that if you forget the past you lose an eye, but if you live in the past you lose both eyes

For me, it’s sort of like the time traveler paradox because my choice to become a parent has made life is really hard juggling everything that I do and at the same time, if I hadn’t become a parent I don’t think I would’ve ever had certain epiphanies that have allowed me to do something meaningful with my life

Impossible to know
I constantly think about my choices and trajectories

If I had stayed at my first job, I could have watched them go out of business, and I would have been stuck in a very small city with zero job prospects. Instead, I quit that job, and I moved across the country, starting me on a career path that brought me success, good wages, and benefits.
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
@BigBulge but at the time you decided to quit was that a significant risk for you that eventually paid off? Or did you have nothing to lose by taking such a chance?
BigBulge · 41-45, M
It was a very big risk because I had just bought a brand new car, and I didn't have a job waiting for me. I was young and confident that I could find a job, and I did.@DoubleRings @DoubleRings

@BigBulge Then well done. A love these kind of success stories
ServantOfTheGoddess · 61-69, M
@DoubleRings can you see any options to make your life happier now?
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
@ServantOfTheGoddess i see risks I could take which may or may not make me happier.
The wrong paths you took make you a stronger survivor !
It was meant to be that way

What’s done is gone
Just don’t repeat it because your all the wiser now!

Tell me the whole story. I'm all ears
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
@SW-User In a nutshell, my mom died almost 10 years ago (wow can’t believe it). My bf broke up with me around the same time and it was my fault bc I was a difficult person with him. It took me yeeeeears to accept it and get over it. I always felt I’ve been on the wrong path ever since. Forcing a life forward in a direction it’s not meant to go. Going against the grain. Never truly belonging anywhere.
