Nothing, my experience with flu jabs is enough to convince me that they are not healthy for me. No one ever warned me about para flu before giving me a flu vax but the doctor who asked me if I had gotten my flu shot told me after I mentioned para flu “Yeah I can’t take them either, I get para flu too”. They knew about para flu but never disclosed it to patients.

@cherokeepatti A friend of mine got the flu shot a number of years ago. He got really sick from it and it took weeks for him to recover. 2 years ago he got the flu vax again. It took him 6 months to feel normal again and he still is not 100% two years later.

@hippyjoe1955 The thing about para flu is that you can get it many times. I always got it at least 3 times and after each two-week bout I would be fatigued for another 2 weeks (like with the flu) and then get it again. You never get immune to para flu. And I also developed rheumatoid arthritis during that time and I was only in my mid-30’s. I believe that the flu shot triggered a gene or something that I developed arthritis.

@cherokeepatti That could easily be. I have never taken the flu vax and I rarely get the flu. My mother in law was living in a seniors lodge and they would ask us if we wanted her to get the flu shot. We said yes as the entire lodge was fully vaxed. Every year they would send out a flier telling us about the Christmas concert they were going to have in mid December. We never went to a Christmas concert in the 10 years she lived there. Every year the concert was cancelled because of a flu outbreak in the lodge. Fully vaxed and still had the flu. hmmmm I never got the vax and rarely got the flu. hmmmmm.

@hippyjoe1955 I think the only times I have come down with the flu were times I was very stressed out. I didn’t know about what supplements to take back then but now I do and I don’t worry about it either. Also not being around smokers is really helpful and laying off of sugar is too, sugar feeds germs.

@cherokeepatti I like to think I lead a healthy lifestyle with lots of exercise and fresh air. I think it helps being around people who are sick a lot (homeless) as it keeps my immune system strong. About the worst I get is a mild cold.

@hippyjoe1955 I’m right there with ya. The only time I got the flu was when I was vaccinated for it! Had covid also, didn’t get vaccinated and had a fever for two days… sever lethargy for about a week… recovered fully! I’d rather my body provide natural immunity
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@1pebbles And now you and I are completely immune from covid. Mine experience was a very mild cold. I got extra sleep at night and the food tasted funny for a few days. I didn't miss a days work!

@1pebbles vitamin C, quercetin, and zinc and vitamin d are good for building the immune system. Quercetin helps get the zinc into the cells so your body can make t-cells to fight off germs before they replicate.

@hippyjoe1955 losing your sense of taste was the worst! I could have chewed a wet, used sponge and not tasted the difference
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@1pebbles
Losing your sense of taste is a sign you have depleted your store of zinc, if you take quercetin and zinc together you will have it and your sense of smell restored quickly.

@1pebbles Yeah me too. Everything had a tinny taste to it. Even the pizza I bought from the pizzeria from across the street.

@cherokeepatti Who in the heck buys scented candles anyways?
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@HoeBag Apparently a lot of people do, there are shelves full of them in many stores.
