Here in Western Canada we would eat at the local Club Cafe. or the local Chinese Restaurant. Both were sit down eateries. We didn't eat there very often. We would go there for coffee or pop and socialize but rarely ate a meal. The first fast food in our neck of the woods was A&W. You drove up in your car and the waitress would come out to your car and take your order then bring your food to you on a tray that would hook on the car's side window. Sadly A&Ws menu really hasn't changed.

@Quimliqer Yup! Kind of like Hooters! You went for the eye candy and the root beer.

@Quimliqer That they were. Coming back from Tuxes and Older Boys Parliament in Calgary one year buddy and I stopped at the A&W in Red Deer and bought a gallon jug of root beer for the road. We still had a couple of hours to go so.... By the time we got back to town the root beer jug was empty. I couldn't drink root beer for years after that! Still not a real fan of it.

@Quimliqer Good for you. I do like it in the frosted mugs but it is terrible when they put it in the paper cups. EWWWWW!!!!!
