That is exactly the definition of an assault rifle and it is already illegal in all 50 US states for a civilian to buy, sell, or own.

Look at the definition Steph posted. That is an assault rifle. That's what I'm talking about.

Don't concede the definition. A semi-automatic rifle, no matter what it looks like, is not an assault rifle.

@sarabee1995 we have 4 full autos. 3 my hubby inherited from his father and one we bought during Bush. The ATF wont budge on approving a license when a lib is in office so you have to time it right. It was more difficult to get put on the ownership list with the 3 my hubby inherited than it was to buy one . But it all got resolved with a little pushing.

@TexChik Oh yes. We discussed this once. I was surprised then and remain surprised. Still, I think it is important to own the language in this debate. A semi-auto weapon is not an assault weapon. Assault weapons, by definition, must include a full auto capability as clearly indicated in the definition above posted by @KiwiBird.

@sarabee1995 exactly. To own a full auto requires one to jump through a lot of hoops . And buy a lot of tax stamps
