If you had your own YouTube channel what would be your area of expertise?

I know there are profits to be had but I don't have any real skills or talent.

Most people after they get a following get the majority of their money from providing some kind of other service after. The most common being merchant. Like sweaters or hoodies..

But others like pewdiepie got creative and made a book called “this book loves you”

Some make music and people can support them buying their tracks etc…

Basically the more creative you are the stronger your account will do.

Game grumps made so many videos and studied the algorithms so much that they learned to gain the most profit a video needs to be ten minutes of length for a minimum.. as shorter videos severely cut into your profits based off the YouTube Adsense..

Finding what you’re good at making is the most important thing. If you’re extremely passionate or knowledgeable about a subject.. and believe you can give insights to the subject while providing palpable humor it’s usually the best course of action..
@AuRevoir Wonderful tips. I know my "Tangerine Travels" bloggers use a language marketing tool. Dan Skezoz in Russia makes about two K a month or so and doesn't sell anything. Pewdiepie is practically a celebrity. I was popular as a teacher but would have to rely on the tech. skills of others. Thanks for some really great food for thought.

Probably Joinery/building tutorials
@Coisty Like tiny houses? Those are really popular right now.

Cooking 🤷‍♂️
Deadish · 31-35, M
@Grateful4you why limit myself, I’ll cook everything, even long pig
@Deadish True. Versatility opens a broader market potential.

@Grateful4you indeed. Especially when we have to eat the rich

Mental health advocate / how to get through something even when you feel like shit

If you're not aiming for profits, you could just do (show) what you want?
@Melpomene I like the mental health idea. I spent so many decades wondering why I bothered with Psyc. in college when generally most therapy I observed went nowhere. People weren't getting better.

Then I came across "Positive Psychology" which is based on something as basic as happiness. It's a therapy that actually offers practical tools that really work in maintaining good mental health stasis.

Uh...I can't imagine myself vlogginig. I'd probably just promote my art.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@Grateful4you ha...I wish. I think I could make those relaxing videos where you watch running creeks and close-ups of twigs slowly swinging in the wind. 😆 That would be fun. If I wanted to vlog I'd probably study something about botany and tried to talk about it in an interesting way. It already sounds boring AF to an average human. 😂
@CrazyMusicLover I watch those relaxing video's all the time, I listen to Enya, most folks are stressed these days and those vlogs seem to do well. But I'm more of a "Hands on" kind of guy and seek to heal in some way.

I would teach everyone the benefits of energy healing (different modalities) and how to do them
maturedragon · 26-30, M

I've been playing with the idea of doing a "cannabis cuisine" type channel.

But not having any real skills or talent shouldn't be a deterrent. There are a number of people making bank on YouTube (Patreon, OnlyFans, etc.) without meeting either of those qualifications. They just know how to sell themselves.
Mine has videos of the locality....

WandererTony · 56-60, M
Can't think of any. That's why I don't have a channel!! 😃
@WandererTony Let's join forces and do tutorials for no-talent skill-less, dummies.
WandererTony · 56-60, M
@Grateful4you Sure! 😆
But what do we teach dummies? 🤔
@WandererTony How to brainstorm? LMFAO
Car tinkering or video games.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
I'd use it to post my music and art
Perhaps a knitting channel, or playing the piano.
@bijouxbroussard I don't imagine you're the one that knitted Lenny Kravitz gigantic scarf? It was featured on Jimmy Kimmel and is nothing short of hilarious.
