@Stereoguy the rape trial was about 90% complete until the accused was on the stand and he revealed something that was not supposed to be revealed to the jury… so it was ruled a mistrial.

The murder was 3 co-defendants at the onset… then a few days in it was only two. (The one plead guilty.) After 4 weeks, we convicted the one on all counts, including 2nd degree murder, which in PA is automatically life in prison without the possibility of parole. The other defendant was acquitted by us on every charge and was free to go.

@Stereoguy what was not supposed to be revealed to the jury, according to the judge, was that the accuser.. the lady that was “raped” was a prostitute.

@Stereoguy yep! Because in all the pretrial meetings with the lawyers… the ground rules were established… and the judge explicitly warned both the defense and the prosecution that the fact she was a prostitute was not to be revealed, as it could sway the jury in a direction that wouldn’t be impartial

@Sunnykel76 I will tell you that I actually enjoyed serving once I was there. It was very interesting and I’d do it again.

@Stereoguy yes, but I never followed it.

@Spokeskitties75 as of Dec 6th I'm leaving the medical field and taking a job at the courthouse. So this will give me much insight prior to starting my new career. I think it will be very interesting to get a first hand look at the easy things work.
