Do people just block anyone with whom they disagree?

Isn't that stupid? I have room for dissenting opinions, unless people get personal(ad hominem). I could...gasp...learn something! Are people afraid of knowledge?

Judging by the actions of some, that answer might be "yes".

@helenS Thank you. Yes, sometimes the trash takes itself out. Lots of hair-trigger people here for whom I feel deeply sorry...or contemptuous; haven't figured that one out yet.
