An inscription on the back
Born with a hearing impairment.
A time where as my mother nor doctors knew if my hearing would further develop.
My mom and I would play a game. I'd sit upon her lap as she silently mouthed words. I'd attempt to guess what she said.
One time she silently mouthed..
"I love you".
My best 8 year old guess however:
"Alligator food".
Time heals us as it passes. I grew up, graduated college, joined the military; perfect hearing an all.
The day I was to deploy my mom gave me a watch. I think of her each time I put it on and read the inscription on the back:
"Alligator Food Forever".
