Asking for forgivenes

I asked my father for forgiveness before he died. During his long illness,I really treated him very unfairly and presented him for it.I felt more like a maid than a daughter and I know now that that was wrong of me? So when I had to say goodbye,after I told him how much I loved him,I asked for his forgiveness and I think he heard me and I like to think he forgave me but I'm having the hardest time forgiving myself.
