What is the motivation behind offending someone or some people who have a certain belief you disagree with?

Some opinions are going to offend someone simply by being expressed. Some facts offend people. But deliberately stating things in a way that encourages hatred is trolling.

@bijouxbroussard it is different to have someone offended because you disagreed and offending someone because you disagree with them. I am talking more about people who see a view they don't align with and then decide to work towards offending the other as opposed to responsibly disagreeing
