This morning I woke up to a friend saying she'd been in the hospital for the past 5 weeks with covid pneumonia. She is fully vaccinated and healthy. Seems there is nothing we can really do to keep completely safe.

And the one day my sister felt safe not wearing a mask is the day she caught COVID. She has become a believer in wearing masks. She suffered at home for a couple of weeks. Thankfully, like your friend, she survived the trauma. Don’t lose hope. It’s like wearing sunscreen: Enjoy life, just wear protection so you don’t get burned as much, if you can avoid it. I’m so glad your friend is okay. I hope she does not have major side effects
