p149, takes me ages to read this book

@Manfredthemanic East of Eden by Steinbeck (I love this writer and they say this is his finest book but it's a bit deep)

@Fluffybull It's sad, but also not. Everyone in it seems hopeless.
The film was good as well, even though I don't always like books as films.

@Manfredthemanic Yes, sometimes a film is a disappointment after the book. Have you read "To Kill a Mockingbird"? The film is wonderful too!

@Fluffybull I've read To Kill a Mockingbird and liked it and in fact it's one of those books I would love to read at least once more before I die - I never watch movies adapted from books , it was the same for The Remains of The Day

@Fluffybull Yes! Atticus Finch is one of my favourite characters from books. I watched the film in school last year and it was good. 😊
