How would you take this?

Ok, let's say you were a GED tutor and you were hired by this woman's father to tutor her for her GED, but you try the traditional way and it's just really overwhelming for her. So, you decide to just try something different, like work on something less difficult and try to make it fun for her, by teaching about different kinds of animals and their habitats, or going on nature walks and collecting different leaves from trees so she can learn about it etc..
You think you're doing good, because she is happy and she is learning. All should be good, right? NO!
The father calls to tell you he is not happy with the way your teaching his daughter (he was not nice about telling you this either).
You explain to him that she is not quite ready for the GED just yet, so you are preparing her for that in a way that is fun, but she is still learning.
He still does not seem happy with your answer.
How would you feel about it?

I would feel that he is not being realistic about his daughter's particular learning difficulties, and isn't at all pleased to face that his child isn't quite ready to pass a GED test.

Remind him of the movie “Kung Fu Panda”
His training was unorthodox. But it got results. If he’s still not happy about it. It’s up to him and his daughter to work out.what they want.

I'd have a meeting with the parent.
