I just don't know anymore

So last night I decided to finally come out to my friend of 12 years and tell her I have feelings for girls and she basically told me that she feels like I'm going through a phase and that eventually I'll "get over it."

But I seem to be forgetting the fact that she also told me that when people starts having feelings for their sex, it's usually owing to some unresolved trauma that happened with the opposite sex that they've decided to suppress. She then went on to say she really wished I hadn't felt that way and how there are things that you just can't ever get from a woman that only men provides.

I'm telling y'all, this girl made me feel like I had a mental health issue for liking women.

I did tell her that she's entitled to her opinions but this is just who I am but dang..it hurt sooo bad to hear all that.
