What difference does it make?

This is for the religious zealots and Republican extremists

There are certainly alot of violent angry ignorant people on this site today. I don't know what your point is. some of us come here to have a laugh or see what someone else's opinion is about this and that.

this is what is wrong with the world today. no one is polite anymore. everyone wants to argue about everything. it is your right to be able to give your opinion, but other people have rights too and some of you don't give a crap about that. thanks for ruining my day.

I think if you removed your first sentence, you'd get better feedback.

I definitely get the separatism and division that's taking place on a global scale and I feel like it frustrates you, as it does me.

But you're getting sucked into the divide as well based on your first sentence.

I'm open to talking to anyone with any viewpoint that may differ from mine. In fact, I prefer it, this is how I grow as a person.

Do you see what I mean though?

@Peaceful those two groups are the only ones that attack me. it is either an attack about Biden or my religious views. period. if those two groups would stop attacking people that they disagree with, there wouldn't be a problem. and yes, i am sucked into the divide because i keep getting attacked when i get into these discussions. i go there for a give and take. they go there to take and bash me on the head with it. and now i have found myself in these name calling hateful scenarios which is exactly what the attacker is begging for

@Peaceful I respectfully disagree with your opinion. I was on here just before the election and I tried in a reasonable and rational way to explain my position (I am a centrist in all things) and it was a pile on and they were unbelievably rude and made nasty, unwarranted comments--it was all right wing extremists. It has taken me almost two years to want to come back here.

My only point was leaving out religion and politics which are intentionally extremely divisive.

@Peaceful At any other time and in any other context I would agree with you, but here, in my neighborhood and even within my own family, they do not see that they are the problem. Unless you specifically name them, they deflect and tell themselves that it is the "left." The moderate Republicans in my family don't even call themselves Republicans anymore because they are so ashamed of this kind of behavior.

@MuguetDeMai Hm, I have certainly seen some vitriol coming from the right wing here towards people they don't agree with, however, from where I am sitting, it's both sides who engage in this type of behavior. Once you start labeling people, you immediately divide them, and even if you don't mean it this way, by taking one side, you are implying the other side is wrong and you will hear from those who disagree.

A good general rule is to not engage in the "politics du jour" if you aren't willing to defend your beliefs aggressively online.

@Peaceful MSM fact checks and issues corrections when they are wrong. It is one of the foundations of our democracy. Extremists on any/all sides say whatever they think people will believe in order to get followers, clicks and bucks.
