@Stereoguy I watched them one night when I was a kid taking off the harvest late at night. They started out as green streaks in the sky but then they turned to red and purple and they danced and exploded and shimmered. I was mesmerized. I could hear something that sounded a bit like someone walking through dry grass but there was no one there except me and I was lying very still on a pile of wheat. Later I learned that sometimes you can hear the Aurora Borealis as well.
@Stereoguy your safest bet is to go to Canada. I was in brendan Canada like two hours up north from Winnipeg, and I saw them all the time during winter. The flight was 300 at most. Hope you get to see them
