Skip this personal, boring, whining rant.

My dad is home now, which is good, but there's still immediate and very serious medical concerns. He's also in crazy amounts of pain that his medication doesn't seem to be helping.

I've always been able to help. To fix things and solve problems.....but here recently, I have ran into so many things that I'm completely powerless to do anything about. From dad's illness to my ex daughter in law's serious medical condition.....to even how the people closest to them are hurting; I'm just incapable.

I'm very discouraged by my inability to do right by the people that are suffering so badly right now. I'm fully aware that sometimes things happen that I can't change....it's just disheartening.

That is all.

You can't save everyone.
Unfortunately that comment will sting but you've been assigned this role for too long and now it's catching up with you.
Take a deep breath and have a stiff drink. You deserve it.

Rob Thomas sung about this in Her Diamonds. His wife has Lupus and sometimes there is nothing more we can do but suffer with them.

@Firegod74 it's very frustrating and soul crushing

@Notanymore I hear ya. I'm a solution guy too. But sometimes that isn't our part to play. Sometimes we have to shift to support. Prop up the others around you and let your support of them be your solution this time.

Sometimes people dont need them to fix anything, just be there. Acknowledge their pain and keep them company through it

Sounds like a lot to handle. Take care of yourself
