I have consistently had a doe and her fawns creep among the field and, she seems quite comfortable as she comes up very close. Her fawns are so funny....like young white spotted children...they munch for a moment, then one bumps the other, and they start dancing, then chasing each other as such impressive speeds! Zero to sixty!
As I typed this....a flock of wild turkeys just passed my window. Hens and babies. The toms and jakes are off somewhere else at this point.

Second day of September. It's changing. The sun has become lazy and golden, casting that light so wonderfully. It's hue changes everything. I'm beginning t get the scent of the woods through my open windows,....the fallen spruce needles are so wonderful...and in the early morning light, the call of the crows at this hour is instructive. Their cry seems so different when the first tentacles of Autumn to creep in.

I know. Or late evening. By Wednesday is should be cooler
