What cities are in danger of disappearing?

The location of Mexico city was poorly chosen based on the fulfillment of a prophecy, and is expected to sink another 90 feet by the end of this century. It additionally lacks enough drinking water despite receiving more rain than London.

Can you think of other cities in peril?

I don't think it will disappear but it will change.
I think it is the largest city in the world with 30MN people.
Lots of crime and pollution.
It'll reach a breaking point where people will leave.

But I think that applies to many cities, like NYC, L.A , Mumbai, Delhi etc..

I can't imagine a major city just disappearing though. But that is probably what the former occupants of Chaco Canyon thought.

Why do you equate sinking with disappearing? It’s not the same thing. Subsidence happens in many places where the ground compacts for various reasons. Mexico City is not disappearing.

@Kumbayakid When most of its buildings start to collapse and all of its water needs to be brought in it will be abandoned.

Tehran, Iran, is also suffering sinkholes from water extraction, although I do not know to what extent.
