Men: if you had a girlfriend, would you still continue a friendship with your female friends?

20 years of friendship is more important than ur man..ur potential future husband? The father of ur kids... maybe? then why not marry that friend of yours who youve know for 20 years?

@silentkillx2: we are better off as friends and any man I would consider for marriage I would hope would care for my best friend like family like I do

@silentkillx2: I never married my best friend. We had been friends for 56 years before he died of complications from diabetes. He married, I married, and we remained friends. No reason to dump someone you've been friends with, for any amount of time. Long time or short time, friends aren't disposable.

i never said id be ok with just leaving my friend but when ur with someone u plan or should be planning to marry them and have kids and start a family with then ur mans should be more important than your friend if my guy really wanted me to stop talking to a certain guy because he felt uncomfortable with it i would and id hope hed do the same for me

my point is if u love ur friend more than ur boyfriend then go marry ur friend
i wouldnt be happy with the fact that my man wants me to leave my friend but for him i would i would because it is him who i plan on spending the rest of my life with and start a family with not with my guy friends

@silentkillx2: I never ran into that problem with anyone. We had been friends since elementary school and never been anything more or less than best friends. If someone wanted me to dump him, it would be like wanting me to dump my parents. I would have known that was a doomed relationship. I've had two best friends since childhood. Both males. One is still living and we've been friends since we were 9. 63 years and counting. Never had any kind of physical relationship, and no thought of getting married, but nobody better ever expect me to dump my friends. That shows lack of trust, lack of faith, lack of love. I'd not marry anyone who displayed no trust.
