I have an awkward funeral to go to.

It’s an uncle (not close but close enough i should go for my cousins) and I can’t describe the level of drama in my side of the family right now since our own mom passed away last year. On a scale of 1-10 it’s 15 and possibly could cause a scene not gonna lie. It’s really really bad. My family will likely be there with this one helluva big “elephant” in the room.

Kind of stressed about it all. Anyone been through the same?

Without a few more specifics about the basis for the drama, it's impossible to answer. Perhaps you're saying that when your mom died during peak Covid times, very few attended her funeral, whereas now, during semi-post-Covid times you think expectations should be similar to last year?

If not that, then what, exactly, is the connection between your mom's passing and the upcoming uncle's funeral?

Update: Sounds like somebody got written out of a will? Your mom? You think your uncle got what should have gone to your mom? You think lawyers can break your uncle's will?
