Is it true that China televises executions?

Apparently they have. Not sure if it's a regular thing, though.

My understanding is that a few years ago CCTV ran a special leading up to the executions of some drug dealers. But the actual executions weren't shown.

North Korea is oppressive enough that they could get away with it.

No...but they do charge the family of the executed the cost of the bullet and they harvest the organs
