@MellyMel22 All mine are in pots too. I like you don`t have a backyard. 😟

@Degbeme [c=BF0080]Pretty much the same thing, just much bigger. At least it is in NY. Stinks though. I put some veggie plants out front in the ground last year and they died almost immediately- but ALL the non food ones didn’t and came back up this year. I’m not sure if it’s the ridiculous tree roots that invaded the front really bad or if it’s some kinda diseased. I didn’t expect the food ones to grow, but I wanted it to so bad, so I tried. It was a lotta work trying to break up the tree roots- it’s like literal tree branches underground stuck. I have a few more plants I wanna add, but am dreading making space by cutting up more. The ground is even uneven- I know this b/c I put a bench and it looks crooked 😡 [/c]

@MellyMel22 Tree roots are my bain too. The backyard won`t even grow grass because of the roots and its all clay which means there is no drainage at all. 😠 All the good top soil was taken away when they built the places.

@Degbeme [c=BF0080]I wonder if that’s why we have trouble getting grass 😳

Where it looks lifted, I’m pretty sure was me last year trying to break it but I wasn’t strong enough 😆 I was smashing the roots everywhere trying to break them with whatever tools I had 🤣 [/c]

@MellyMel22 That is a lot of roots especially above ground. It is a possibility why you can`t get the grass to grow. Grass needs to get its roots into the soil and clay won`t allow that.
MellyMel22 · F
@Degbeme [c=BF0080]Those are only some you can see, underneath is bad too. The closest tree isn’t even that close 😳[/c]
Degbeme · 70-79, M
@MellyMel22 Doesn`t matter those are feeder roots they go way beyond what you see of the tree above ground.

@Degbeme [c=BF0080]They’re serious B*stards![/c]
Degbeme · 70-79, M
@MellyMel22 Yes they are. Any nutrient in the soil they take. 🤬
MellyMel22 · F
@Degbeme [c=BF0080]That must be why the herb and veggie plants don’t survive there. I even added extra miracle grow soil and root food. The tree prob ate it all 🤬 [/c]

@MellyMel22 Quite possible.
